The Holiday Suitcase®

These "suitcase-works" contain all the items that Philippe Prouff has collected on his travels in far-flung places, from the commonest tourist souvenirs to his own travelogues, photographs and personal objects. They all serve as proof of the owner's claims to have traveled to destinations as exotic as Murmansk, or Tristan da Cunha.

Installation comprising three suitcases and a trunk of various sizes, in boiled leather, and with wooden struts and metal clips and locks; along with two presentation videos and a tutorial. Each suitcase or trunk contains several boxes made in Plexiglas (called "Evidence Boxes") with drawers containing diverse objects presented in made-to-measure protective wedging foam. They are accompanied by a pamphlet detailing the contents of each.
